Drop/Mail box?

Drop/Mail box?

Postby Claire Silverspar » Sat Feb 13, 2010 9:14 pm

Hiya!

Normally I'd check the LL forums for an answer to this, but since they can't be accessed yet, and I can't figure out how to search on the blogrums (I'm working on it, I promise), I figured I'd ask you guys, cause you're all smart 'n' stuff.

I want to update the business list again fairly soon, but I want an easier way to collect the notecards and landmarks than them all being thrown at an avvie - I'm always scared something will get lost along the way.
Is there a way I can script a mail box or something that will let people drop a notecard and will keep it till I can go and pick them up so they dont get mixed up with notices etc? Or is it a stupid idea and should I stick with notes being dropped on an av?

There is because I see such boxes around. I can't answer your question, and I'm interested to know the answer myself, but I'd guess that there's an LSL function that makes a prim able to accept objects being dropped into it (dragged onto it) by anyone, and maybe the type of item can be set.

Isn't there a script library in the wiki somewhere?

There's this:-

http://lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=HomePage

At the bottom of the left column, there's a script library that may contain what you want.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything in that library.

That's excellent, Ava. I never think of using a web engine to look for such stuff.
